About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Service Worker to join our Campus Dining team at Vanderbilt University. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of our dining facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, wash, and store used cookware, flatware, and utensils from dining and kitchen areas.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of front and back-of-house floors, walls, ceilings, trash, and garbage disposals.
  • Ensure clean and functional stations by keeping areas stocked with necessary sanitary items.
  • Assist with basic food preparation, such as smoothies and salad bar preparation, and serve customers on the service line.
  • Assist with receiving and stocking orders.
  • Complete production and log sheets as assigned.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned and/or when needed.
Requirements
  • High School Education or equivalent preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Great interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Previous dishwashing and food preparation experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow instructions and help with basic food service tasks, as needed.
  • Ability to read documents.
  • Must be able to safely operate all kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended time periods, up to 6 hours.
