Job Overview

Position Title: Prevention Coordinator

Salary: Competitive

Key Responsibilities:

The Prevention Coordinator will:

  1. Develop and nurture effective partnerships with State Points of Contact (POCs).
  2. Execute program objectives and standard operating procedures.
  3. Organize and deliver Substance Abuse Prevention (SAP) Training for ARNG Units, ensuring compliance with established requirements.
  4. Facilitate Suicide Prevention (SP) and Bystander Training for ARNG leaders and units, adhering to regulatory standards.
  5. Oversee the coordination, quality assurance, and distribution of the Unit Risk Inventory (URI) and Reintegration Unit Risk Inventory (RURI).
  6. Engage with Unit commanders to support and report on the outcomes of the Risk Mitigation Plan (RMP) training.
  7. Document all Prevention Training activities in the DAMIS and internal tracking systems.
  8. Record incidents of suicides, ideations, and attempts in the Critical Incident Management System (CIMS) promptly and ensure updates are made as new information is received.
  9. Manage all Substance Abuse referrals from initial contact to final outcome, collaborating with Unit Commanders and ensuring proper follow-up and documentation.
  10. Participate actively in the Commander's Readiness and Resiliency Council (CR2C) and the Adjutant General's Alcohol and Drug Intervention Council (ADIC).
  11. Establish and maintain connections with community-based service providers.
  12. Keep the State resource catalog updated and relevant.
  13. Prepare and submit required weekly/monthly reports to the RRC.
  14. Assist the RRC with Monthly Status reports.
  15. Attend Substance Abuse Interim Progress Reviews.
  16. Support SPC with training and coordination efforts as necessary.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in a Social Science or a related discipline.

Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Substance Abuse Prevention, Suicide Prevention, or Resiliency fields.

Required Skills: Exceptional instructional and presentation abilities, adaptable to diverse audiences. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends as required by training activities.
