Company: Stormont Vail Health

Schedule: Full-time - 36 hours/week or greater

Shift: First Shift (Less than 12 hours per shift)

Weekly Work Schedule: Four ten-hour shifts with on-call responsibilities, during training five eight-hour shifts with buddy call

Job Overview: The Cardiovascular Perfusion Department Assistant plays a vital role in supporting various cardiovascular diagnostic, monitoring, and assistance procedures. The work environment can be demanding due to the critical nature of the tasks involved. On-call coverage may be required up to 50% of the time.

Education Qualifications:

  • Completion of a relevant medical or technical training program (e.g., EMT, OR technician, medical assistant, CNA)

Experience Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a cardiovascular or surgical setting is preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Independently perform various procedures and assist the Perfusionist during operations
  • Participate in assigned on-call duties
  • Document charges for procedures and manage supply inventory
  • Order necessary materials and conduct preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Assist with routine cleaning and upkeep of the work area

Requirements:

  • Adherence to all policies, standards, and mandatory training requirements
  • Ability to operate effectively in a high-pressure, urgent environment
  • Dedicated workspace for patient interaction
  • Physical capability to meet the demands of the position

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to various environmental factors, including extreme temperatures, infectious agents, and chemical substances
  • Compliance with safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment
