POSITION SUMMARY:

The role involves performing tasks that assist patients in fulfilling fundamental human requirements and daily living activities, delivering essential patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).# The position also encompasses additional Nurse Assistant III responsibilities following training to improve patient care under the guidance of the RN or LPN.# Furthermore, a variety of clerical support tasks and other responsibilities are undertaken to aid the nursing team in executing daily patient care operations.

This position supports telemetry functions, as assigned, by observing cardiac rhythms through telemetry monitors. It includes the preparation and upkeep of medical records, transcription, and expediting of physician orders. The role also involves functioning as a receptionist and assisting in maintaining a safe and sanitary environment.

The Clerical Nurse Assistant III is expected to alternate between clerical and clinical responsibilities to meet departmental needs.

Reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

## # EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required, and successful completion of a certified nursing assistant program is highly preferred.

Nursing students who have completed a semester of clinical training may be considered.# Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support is required upon hire or to be obtained during the new employee orientation period, along with maintaining clinical competency during employment with ECHN in this role.

Passing the ECHN arrhythmia course or challenge exam is mandatory during the new employee orientation period.

EXPERIENCE:
######### A solid understanding of medical terminology and exceptional customer service skills are essential.#

COMPETENCIES:
Basic computer proficiency is necessary.# Effective reading and communication skills in English are required.

Provides accurate and relevant information.# 13.# Prepares medical records for new admissions and discharged patients.# Maintains accurate medical records throughout the patient's stay.

14.# Transcribes physician orders promptly.# Inputs orders into the computer system.# Prioritizes orders by identifying those requiring timed or immediate action.# Notifies the appropriate nursing staff or department.

15.# Responds promptly and appropriately to patient requests, including timely acknowledgment of patient call bells.
