The Division of Palliative Care at Mass General Brigham is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified physician in Hospice and Palliative Medicine to enhance our multidisciplinary inpatient consult team. This team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers, and chaplains, dedicated to providing exceptional care for patients with complex, advanced illnesses.

Role Responsibilities
The Palliative Care Inpatient Consult Physician role is structured as a 0.8 FTE position, which encompasses:
- Clinical responsibilities on the inpatient consult service.
- Teaching and mentoring residents and medical students.
- Engagement in quality improvement initiatives and administrative duties.
The ideal candidate should possess an interest in potential part-time outpatient services, as the Division anticipates growth in this area. An academic appointment to the clinical faculty at a prestigious medical school is expected.
Key Division Attributes
The Palliative Care Division provides specialized, interdisciplinary services in various settings, including:
- Inpatient consultations for patients facing complex, advanced illnesses.
- Co-management of patients with advanced cancer at affiliated cancer centers.
- Plans to broaden ambulatory services for patients with serious non-oncologic illnesses.
Educational Contributions
All attending physicians within the Division are expected to actively participate in educational and quality improvement initiatives, which include:
- Precepting clinical rotations for medical learners and providing bedside teaching.
- Conducting educational sessions for institutional conferences.
- Facilitating small group training for serious illness conversation programs.
- Participating in divisional quality improvement projects as assigned.
