The National Guard Employment Network is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing strategic support to our organization, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, and providing exceptional service to our employees.
Key Responsibilities- Employee Onboarding and Offboarding: Develop and implement onboarding programs, manage new employee orientation, and ensure accurate and compliant paperwork, including USCIS Form I-9.
- Employee Relations: Track employee corrective actions, partner with the HR Manager to make recommendations to management for corrective action and continuous improvement, and respond to employee relation issues, including employee complaints, harassment, or discrimination.
- HR Policy Management: Partner with the HR Manager to review, update, and communicate human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, and other government regulations.
- Compensation and Benefits Administration: Assist with FMLA process, facilitate ADA requests, and assist with employee inquiries, coordinate open enrollment process/communication annually.
- HR/PR System and Reporting: Assist with data maintenance and integrity of the HR/PR system, run reports routinely or as necessary to analyze data for ongoing issues, projects, or functions, and assist with implementation or upgrading of new HR system modules as needed.
- HR Compliance: Ensure employee files are compliant, maintain/review/update completed job descriptions, maintain affirmative action program, and maintain other records, reports, and logs to comply with EEO/AAP and OSHA regulations.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an HR Generalist or similar role.
- Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field (degree may be substituted for additional 2 years' experience).
- Solid understanding/experience with human resources and payroll processes, benefit and compensation administration, recruitment and onboarding processes, handling employee relations issues, organizational planning and development, FMLA/leave administration, employment law compliance (FLSA, ADEA, EEO, ADA, FMLA, etc.), performance management, employee development, corrective action, employee investigations, regulatory reporting.
- Required Skills/Abilities: High level of people skills and professionalism to handle sensitive and confidential situations and detailed documentation, ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality, thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, strong analytical and critical thinking skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- HR certification a plus - SHRM or other.
- Travel is required.
- Bi-Lingual - English Spanish.
