Behavior Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavior Specialist to join our team at I Am Boundless, Inc. Our organization is dedicated to providing exceptional support and services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and behavioral health challenges.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Applied Behavior Analysis and experience working with children and adolescents with various psychiatric and behavioral disorders, including those on the autism spectrum. As a Behavior Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support to individuals and their caregivers by coordinating and implementing services in Applied Behavior Analysis, function analyses, and behavior acquisition and reduction procedures.

You will also oversee the programming of and provide ongoing support and supervision to Behavior Technicians, Direct Support Professionals, and parents as it relates to the implementation and documentation associated with Skill Acquisition and Behavior Support Plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to individuals and their caregivers through coordination and implementation of services in Applied Behavior Analysis, function analyses, and behavior acquisition and reduction procedures.
  • Oversee the programming of and provide ongoing support and supervision to Behavior Technicians, Direct Support Professionals, and parents.
  • Develop and implement Skill Acquisition and Behavior Support Plans.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and person-centered care.
Requirements:
  • Enrolled in a master's program in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field, pursuing BCBA certification.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents with various psychiatric and behavioral disorders, including those on the autism spectrum.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid, CPR - adult, child, and infant certification.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License with Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles; proof of auto insurance; insurable driving record (five points or fewer).
