Annual Salary Range: $45,760-$47,840

About the Facility

The Franklin County Community Based Correctional Facility is dedicated to providing a rehabilitative environment aimed at reducing repeat offenses and enhancing community safety. Our mission focuses on creating a secure setting that fosters behavioral change through tailored programming and cognitive restructuring. The facility accommodates adult male residents for a maximum duration of 180 days, emphasizing the importance of community safety and addressing the specific needs of residents through intensive cognitive behavioral interventions.

Key Responsibilities

The Treatment Specialist plays a crucial role in implementing and managing the Behavior Management System. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting behavioral interventions for residents exhibiting significant rule violations.
  • Ensuring a balanced approach between rewards and consequences.
  • Managing resident behavior through Core Correctional Practices.
  • Organizing and facilitating resident activities and self-help groups.
  • Participating in Behavior Management Team and Treatment Team meetings.
  • Maintaining a safe, sanitary, and orderly environment.
  • Promoting and modeling pro-social behavior consistently.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as audit standards.
Physical Requirements

This position requires a considerable amount of standing, walking, sitting, and engaging with residents. Candidates must be able to lift and transfer up to fifty (50) pounds and possess sufficient visual acuity to operate necessary equipment.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

  • Proficient computer skills.
  • An Associate degree (required) or Bachelor's degree (preferred) in social work, sociology, psychology, criminal justice, or a related field.
  • Two to three years of experience in corrections, psychology, criminal justice, social work, substance abuse treatment, mental health, or a related field in a residential setting (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • A valid Ohio Driver's license and a clean driving record.
