Job Summary

The Muscogee County School District is seeking a highly skilled Behavior Analyst to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a key member of our Exceptional Student Education department, you will play a critical role in providing direct services and consultation to students, staff, and parents to ensure positive outcomes for students with Autism and other developmental delays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Behavior Interventions: Design and implement effective behavior interventions, including functional behavior assessments and positive behavior support plans, to reduce inappropriate student behaviors and increase student performance.
  • Provide Training and Support: Conduct training and provide support to staff and parents on behavior management strategies, including crisis intervention and behavior case management.
  • Collaborate with School Staff: Work closely with school staff and parents to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans (BSPs) that meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Recruit, Train, and Supervise Staff: Participate in the recruitment, training, and supervision of assigned staff to ensure highly qualified professionals are maintained.
  • Develop and Implement Programs: Assist in the development and implementation of effective programs for children with Autism and other developmental delays, including non-public schools and agencies.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with all district, state, and federal regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Georgia Department of Education Implementation Manual for The Special Education State Rules.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree: Master's degree in applied behavioral sciences, psychology, education, or other related fields.
  • BCBA Certification: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
  • Experience: Teaching experience in the area of Exceptional Student Education working with students with disabilities, and experience working as a behavior specialist in public education classrooms for students with mild to severe Autism and other developmental delays.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrates a clear understanding of the individual education process and due process for students with disabilities, knowledge of district procedures manual and Georgia Department of Education Implementation Manual for The Special Education State Rules, good organization and cooperative planning skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
