Position Overview:

The CAD/Revit Detailer will play a crucial role within our Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) team. This position focuses on collaborating with VDC professionals to produce precise technical drawings and models utilizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, including Revit and Navisworks. The detailer will assist in the coordination and development of project design models, create shop and field drawings, and convert shop drawings into fabrication drawings for mechanical and plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate detailed mechanical and plumbing models based on project specifications and design drawings.
  • Ensure compliance of all drawings and models with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Revise drawings according to feedback from project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with team members to integrate design and construction documentation effectively.
  • Complete modeling tasks including preparation, piece numbering, annotating, dimensioning, and spooling.
  • Support ongoing project design and drafting efforts.
  • Maintain project timelines, coordinate workflows, and manage project budgets.
  • Assist VDC Management in addressing and negotiating critical project issues.
  • Keep accurate records of all generated drawing deliverables.
  • Ensure project documentation adheres to established standards.
  • Conduct reviews of project-related models.
  • Provide field support to ensure alignment between design models and installation requirements.
  • Review shop drawings, respond to requests for information (RFIs), and participate in construction meetings.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience in the construction sector is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
  • Experience in a Revit work-sharing environment.
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
