Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Claims Representative to join our team at Plymouth Rock Assurance. As a key member of our claims department, you will be responsible for handling First and Third Party Bodily Injury and Physical Damage claims in a Personal Lines environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate prompt contact with insureds, claimants, and witnesses to conduct thorough coverage and liability investigations.
  • Analyze and review policies to assess coverage and liability, providing advice on excess and primary coverage issues.
  • Conduct field investigations, interviews, and manage outside vendors to determine necessary investigation and bring claims to conclusion.
  • Investigate cases timely to establish and maintain proper reserves, revising reserves as necessary.
  • Handle complex claims, including coverage issues, UM/UIM, and prior litigation handling.
  • Negotiate claims directly with injured parties and their attorneys, exercising proper judgment and decision-making.
  • Attend litigation proceedings, internal and external training events, and participate in proactive team activities to achieve departmental and company objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • 10 years of experience handling liability, homeowners, UM/UIM, excess/umbrella claims.
  • In-depth knowledge of litigation, arbitration, and trial process, handling out-of-state claims and Personal Injury Protection claims.
  • Currently holds or can readily obtain an out-of-state license (e.g., CT, Delaware, Florida).
  • Professional designation such as IIA, AEI, SCLA, or CPCU, or actively working towards a designation.
