Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Otolaryngology Medical Director to join our team at IHC Health Services, Inc. This role will oversee the management and optimization of our Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Service Line, ensuring exceptional patient care and outcomes.

About the Role

This is a key position within our organization, reporting directly to the Senior Medical Director of Surgical Specialties Digestive Health Service Line. As a Medical Director, you will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight to our medical group Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgeons, fostering a culture of excellence that sets the standard in Otolaryngology care.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct a team of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgeons to ensure high-quality patient care and optimize clinical outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other Medical Directors across regions to coordinate Otolaryngology care and improve quality metrics.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Otolaryngology operational issues, including clinics, hospitals, operating rooms, and other sites of service.
  • Liaise with Clinical Programs, IPAS, and other enterprise organizations to drive top decile performance on key performance metrics.
  • Promote a culture of excellence, professionalism, and teamwork among physicians and staff.
  • Maintain open communication channels with hospital and regional leadership to coordinate Otolaryngology care and develop strategies.
  • Serve as a resource and expert on Otolaryngology-related matters, including provider performance concerns, peer review, and Select Health Policy reviews.

Requirements

  • Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from an ACGME or AOA accredited institution.
  • Active Board Certification in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (ABMS or equivalent AOA).
  • At least three years of experience working as an Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery surgeon and two years of experience leading successful improvements in clinical settings.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, effective communication, and interpersonal skills.

Estimated Salary Range: $250,000 - $350,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
