Job Overview

As an Assistant Food and Beverage Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our food and beverage services. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring guest satisfaction and employee engagement while adhering to the operational budget and compliance with standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the procurement of food and beverage supplies, as well as cleaning materials and uniforms.
  • Supervise daily food and beverage operations, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Support and oversee a comprehensive self-inspection program on a monthly basis.
  • Operate and maintain all departmental equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
  • Monitor staffing levels to meet operational needs and financial objectives.
  • Foster a culture of trust, respect, and collaboration among team members.
  • Establish specific goals and plans to prioritize and organize work effectively.
  • Encourage a learning environment that values both successes and failures.
  • Communicate effectively with staff regarding areas needing attention and follow up to ensure clarity.
  • Coordinate cleaning initiatives across all food and beverage areas, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
  • Adhere to property-specific recovery plans and stay accessible to team members.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the brand's service culture.

Delivering Exceptional Guest Service

  • Provide outstanding service that enhances customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating appropriate behaviors and standards.
  • Manage daily operations to ensure quality and meet customer expectations consistently.
  • Proactively address guest concerns and feedback.
  • Set a positive example for guest relations and remain approachable to all guests.
  • Review guest feedback and satisfaction metrics with team members.
  • Respond promptly to requests from the customer service department.

Additional Duties

  • Communicate relevant information to supervisors and colleagues through various channels.
  • Analyze data and evaluate outcomes to determine the best solutions for challenges.
  • Perform job functions as needed to support the team.
  • Maintain professionalism and courtesy towards all team members.
  • Understand and manage budgets, operating statements, and payroll reports.

The compensation for this position ranges from $26.44 to $32.69 per hour. Marriott offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health care options, a 401(k) plan with company matching, employee stock purchase plans, paid time off, life insurance, and various wellness benefits.
