Position Overview

The Food Service Attendant is responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences by serving food and beverages with promptness and courtesy. This role reports directly to the Food & Beverage Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and attend to guests in a lively and friendly manner.
  • Foster a hospitable environment by possessing thorough knowledge of the dining facilities and being able to enthusiastically respond to guest inquiries regarding the menu and other resort offerings.
  • Accurately take orders and communicate food requests to the kitchen and beverage orders to the bar staff.
  • Serve food and drinks while adhering to service etiquette and organizational procedures.
  • Engage with guests throughout their dining experience to ensure their needs are met and that they receive outstanding service.
  • Collaborate with team members, following guidance from the Lead Server or Food & Beverage Manager.
  • Identify and report any safety concerns or customer issues to a supervisor.
  • Verify guest identification to ensure compliance with age restrictions for alcohol service.
  • Process cash and card transactions, ensuring accuracy in charges and providing correct change.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications / Skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One to three months of relevant server experience preferred.
  • Must meet state and federal age requirements for serving alcohol.
  • Current Food Handlers Card and TIPS Certification required.
  • Ability to understand and apply dining standards effectively.
  • Proficient in basic math skills, including the ability to calculate discounts and percentages.
  • Contributes positively to a friendly work environment by maintaining an upbeat attitude.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including evenings and weekends.

Work Environment

This position typically operates in an indoor dining setting, with potential responsibilities in outdoor environments, subject to weather conditions. The noise level can be elevated, and employees may encounter various obstacles while navigating busy areas.

Physical Demands

Employees in this role are regularly required to see, speak, and hear. The position is active, requiring standing and walking for most of the shift. It also involves lifting, balancing, and carrying items weighing up to 20 pounds. Frequent hand washing is necessary, and employees must be able to effectively communicate in a lively atmosphere.
