About the Role:

As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of middle and high school students with diverse learning needs. You will provide targeted instruction within a resource classroom environment while collaborating with general education teachers for inclusion opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and related service providers to create a comprehensive learning environment for students with special needs.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and differentiated learning techniques to meet the individual needs of each student.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that are aligned with state standards and IEP goals.
  • Monitor student progress, collect data, and report on student achievement.

  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • North Dakota State Special Education Teaching License with Middle and/or High School endorsements.
  • Experience working with middle and/or high school students with special needs in a resource classroom setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of special education curriculum, assessment practices, and instructional methodologies.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction, create a positive and inclusive learning environment, and effectively manage a resource classroom.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for helping students with special needs reach their full potential.
