Job Title: Correctional Officer 1

At the Washington State Government, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Correctional Officer 1 to join our team.

Job Summary:

As a Correctional Officer 1, you will be responsible for providing safety and security within our institution. This includes controlling and directing the activities and movement of incarcerated individuals, maintaining the security of the institution, and controlling movement into, out of, and within the institution in accordance with established department methods and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide safety and security for incarcerated individuals and staff
  • Maintain the security of the institution and its facilities
  • Control movement into, out of, and within the institution
  • Assist in monitoring and controlling the activities of incarcerated individuals
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions quickly
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
