Job Summary:

As a Business Development Representative for Vessels at Pala-Interstate, LLC, you will be responsible for marketing, promoting, and profitably selling products and services to existing and potential customers. This role requires a strong understanding of the industry and the ability to develop relationships with customers to meet their needs and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Seek out new business opportunities with existing and potential customers.
  • Complete sales calls and expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Provide customers with accurate and timely proposals and estimates.
  • Follow up on all generated quotations to ensure customer satisfaction and document the outcome.
  • Generate profitable sales orders.
  • Negotiate sales effectively.
  • Stay up-to-date on products and market trends.
  • Develop relationships with vendors to obtain product knowledge and information.
  • Manage customer orders from start to finish, including establishing customer accounts, ensuring timely delivery, and invoicing.
  • Stay current on existing and emerging products and technologies.
  • Develop a productive working relationship with Inside Sales Associates and support personnel, providing training and development opportunities when possible.
  • Execute sales efforts in an ethical and professional manner, maintaining a favorable impression of yourself and the company.
  • Maintain a professional image in yourself and the work environment, including your vehicle.
  • Fulfill customer needs for current literature, catalogs, product pricing, and other information.
  • Assist customers with problem-solving, takeoffs, project layout/design, and pricing bills of material and project management.
  • Report competitive conditions and customer feedback to management.
  • Participate in other duties as assigned by the Business Development Manager.


Requirements:

  • High School Graduate
  • A valid driver's license, insurance, and a proven safe driving record.
  • Prefer 1 Year Inside Sales experience, preferably in vessels.
  • Prefer Bachelor's degree in sales or a closely related field, with sales and industry experience; or equivalent combined education and on-the-job experience.
  • Proficient in M.S. Office software package, with emphasis on Excel.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment, including computers, photocopiers, facsimile machines, and printers.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent phone etiquette.
  • Travel Required.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats, including sales presentations, and develop strong interpersonal working relationships and work in a team environment.
  • Developed knowledge of the industry within a given market.
  • Conveys a professional and positive image and attitude.
