O&T is responsible for supporting enterprise technology, broadcast, and production systems across the NBCU global portfolio.The Infrastructure Systems Specialist will collaborate with NBCU Technology leadership to manage daily operations, including VM deployment, OS access requests, OS/VM troubleshooting, ESXi configuration, SOX compliance, and performance optimization.
Working within an agile framework, you will update tickets in Jira/SNOW and collaborate with cross-functional business leaders and partners to deliver top-tier support for our NBCU local stations and global enterprise clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Collaboration: Develop and maintain relationships with Infrastructure Engineering, MSP resources, facility support, vendors, and application teams to ensure comprehensive delivery and support of infrastructure solutions.
Demonstrate a commitment to establishing and maintaining a stable, high-performance technical environment.
Client Engagement: Work closely with business and client teams to define and articulate technical requirements and recommendations.
Exhibit strong customer service skills and unwavering professionalism.
Collaborate effectively with both local facility clients and peers across O&T.
Manage timelines, prioritize tasks, and set client expectations.
Partner with the Business Engagement team to gather technical requirements, propose solutions, and ensure resource availability to meet deadlines.
Monitoring and Security: Work in tandem with the NBCU cybersecurity team to develop repeatable systems adhering to security best practices and hardening measures.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
Experience with scripting languages (Python, Shell, PowerShell).
Proficiency in troubleshooting using tools such as strace, dtrace, and tcpdump.
Experience in managing, building, and troubleshooting virtualization/OS technologies, including Oracle, RHEL, VMware, Windows, and Linux.
Knowledge of Linux OS monitoring and performance management.
Understanding of networking protocols, routing, and network topology.
Experience in automating operational tasks to enhance reliability and standards.
Familiarity with agile methodologies and JIRA-based sprint structures.
Experience with compute hardware vendors such as Cisco, HP, and Dell, along with general data center facility wiring, fiber, and connectivity requirements.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with Block/File/Object storage technologies.
Knowledge of backup technologies, recovery scenarios, and high availability designs and solutions.
Experience with ServiceNow or other ITSM-related tools.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline related to Information Technology with a minimum of 3 years of relevant practical experience required.
1 year of recent experience with cloud-based technologies.
1 year of experience with scripting.
Work Arrangement:
This position is designated as hybrid, typically requiring in-office contributions at least three days per week.
Work Schedule:
Wednesday through Sunday or Saturday through Wednesday; 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
