Maintenance Level I

The Guidance Center is seeking a skilled Maintenance Level I to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our staff, clients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular building rounds to identify and address any issues or concerns, reporting variances or safety issues to the Superintendent of Buildings.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work, as well as custodial duties and event set-ups/takedowns.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance tasks for HVAC and other building systems, including changing filters, belts, and lubrication.
  • Communicate effectively with outside vendors and contractors to ensure timely completion of specialized work.
  • Support programs and initiatives for partner agencies, tenants, and agency staff.
Requirements:
  • A High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, squat, bend, and reach repetitively throughout a 7.5 hour shift.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a maintenance or custodial-oriented position, with experience in minor building repairs and commercial experience working with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Current driver's license with a good driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
