Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our team at West Fraser. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of duties involving technical electronic diagnostics, computer equipment, and precision instruments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with equipment and rolling stock
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection
  • Operate various mechanical and electronic test equipment
  • Adjust mechanisms, such as feed, speed, power input, or output
  • Work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime as scheduled or required
Requirements
  • Minimum High School or GED required
  • 2+ years of experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance
  • Experience with precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings, and pumps
  • Experience troubleshooting issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors
  • Ability to work in extreme environments and lift up to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with fabrication, cutting with a torch, and welding with an arc welder
  • Experience reading blueprints and hydraulic schematics
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
