Facility: Mile Bluff Medical Center

Available Schedules: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period; Morning shift

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Position Summary:

The Culinary Specialist is responsible for preparing and cooking meals in accordance with established menus and dietary guidelines, ensuring high-quality food service for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up dining areas for meal service and deliver food and beverages to residents in the dining room and on meal trays.
  • Prepare breakfast and lunch items for residents and visitors.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining spaces, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Receive and store food deliveries appropriately.
  • Portion meals in accordance with nutritional standards for elder care.
  • Prepare food items for the nutrition center as needed.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required.
  • Food Safety certification is highly recommended.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Intermediate computer skills are necessary.
  • Ability to read and execute large-scale recipes.
  • Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment is important.
  • Understanding of sanitation standards and dietary requirements is crucial.
  • Self-motivated with strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
