Job Summary

The University of Vermont Health Network seeks a skilled Clinical Informaticist, RN to optimize the utilization of clinical information systems workflow for clinical processes. This role requires a deep understanding of ambulatory and/or hospital clinical processes or patient access and revenue cycle management. The successful candidate will collaborate with nursing, clinical disciplines, and Information Services to evaluate the effectiveness of clinical technologies on patient care and identify optimization opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist credentialed trainers and principal trainers in creating and maintaining end-user training documentation for Epic's clinical and clinical ancillary applications.
  • Function as a liaison between nursing, clinical disciplines, and Information Services to facilitate a common understanding of information system needs, end-user processes, interoperability, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with the medical informatics team to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of clinical technologies on patient care and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Work with senior clinical and medical group leaders to prioritize and plan Epic Optimization work.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other clinic staff to ensure effective communication and collaboration during Epic Optimization planning, implementation, and follow-up.
Requirements
  • BA/BS or higher in a related field strongly preferred.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Demonstrated interest in Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) through coursework, experience in a hospital with the selection or implementation of a clinical information system, or serving as a HIT super user or educator.
Travel Requirements

The ability and means to regularly travel throughout the UVM Health Network is required.
