Position Overview:
The Residential Preservation Construction Expert will be pivotal in advancing Habitat's initiatives focused on climate resilience, home repairs, and accessibility for low-income families.

This role involves collaboration with Repair Coordinators and the Program Manager to ensure that preservation projects effectively address client needs, comply with funding guidelines, and are executed within established timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough home assessments for potential preservation clients.
- Develop detailed work scopes and budget estimates tailored to homeowner requirements and available funding.
- Solicit and evaluate proposals and contracts from subcontractors.
- Identify and onboard additional subcontractors as necessary.
- Supervise subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Ensure responsible management of financial and material resources.
- Perform inspections and quality assurance evaluations.
- Assist in recruiting skilled volunteers for in-house preservation projects.
- Engage with volunteers to ensure their safety during projects.
- Manage material procurement.
- Maintain tools and inventory for repairs.
- Execute warranty work related to repairs completed by the organization.
- Participate in weekly departmental and project meetings.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of hands-on experience in residential construction or home inspections.
- Must possess or be able to obtain an MHIC license within three months of starting the position.
- Familiarity with standard building codes and local inspection policies.
- Strong multitasking abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Capability to oversee multiple construction projects of varying scales.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact sensitively and clearly with clients.
- Availability to work a Monday through Friday schedule, with occasional weekends and evenings as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of volunteers and homeowners.
- Valid Driver's License and eligibility for vehicle insurance coverage.
- Physical capability to climb stairs and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Willingness to complete or have completed OSHA safety training.
- Fluency in Spanish or other languages is advantageous.
