Patient Access Representative

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team in Outpatient Scheduling. As a key member of our patient access team, you will be responsible for scheduling appointments, verifying patient information, and ensuring seamless communication with our patients and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule appointments for patients, taking into account location instructions, patient demographics, and insurance requirements.
  • Verify patient eligibility, obtain benefits, and pre-authorizations or referrals as needed.
  • Enter data into EPIC, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collect co-pays, patient payments, and set up payment plans as necessary.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to patient inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Medical Terminology Certification preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills, including data entry and word processing.
  • Experience with Excel, email, and online insurance verification.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One to two years of general or medical office experience.
  • One to two years of health insurance experience.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time at a computer terminal.
  • Extensive use of hands for writing, phone, and computer work.
  • Subject to stressful professional relationships.
