Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our team at Alaska-Santos. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment, power generation, and distribution systems at our Pikka Facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on large synchronous generators, 480V / 5KV / 15KV switchgear, and motor control centers.
  • Functional check-out and commissioning of new installations of electrical equipment in hazardous classified areas.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations to determine root cause.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as driven by the work management system and provide quality detail and feedback to work completed and discovered.
  • Provide Santos oversight of contractor work, ensuring compliance with Santos and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with engineering to evaluate maintenance program performance and pursue predictive maintenance analytics.
  • Seek knowledge in and encourage the use of innovative technology to further optimize facilities' availability and reliability.
  • Utilizing safe work practices and ensuring all electrical safety requirements are met.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • State of Alaska Journeyman Electrical License.
  • Valid state motor vehicle license to operate mobile equipment.
  • Minimum of 5 years electrical experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Proficiency using electrical test and calibration equipment.
  • Experience with work management systems (SAP, Maximo, or similar) preferred.
  • Experience with large synchronous generators, 480V / 5KV / 15KV switchgear, and motor control centers.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work a 12-hour day/night shift with a 2/2 weeks on/off rotational schedule on the North Slope of Alaska. They will also be required to reside in, relocate to, or commute to Anchorage, AK without company assistance.

The ideal candidate will be able to independently lift/carry and otherwise work with items weighing upwards of 50 pounds on a frequent basis. They will also be able to work in a variety of postures and positions throughout the work period, including supine, kneeling, squatting, bending, and crawling, as well as working in tight confines.

The successful candidate will be required to work at extremes of heat and cold, in high noise areas, and with dust and fumes. They will also be required to help other facility and field techs when they need help.

Able to successfully pass a fit for duty assessment.
