Job Summary:

Arbor Lodging Management is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team. As a key member of our hotel management team, you will be responsible for managing the functional areas of guest registration, night audit, guest reservations, housekeeping/laundry, and food/beverages areas to ensure guest satisfaction and maximize hotel profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage financial components of operations
  2. Assist general manager in day-to-day operations of the hotel
  3. Maximize financial performance and upholds quality standards of F&B and Rooms departments
  4. Maximize room revenue by anticipating market shifts, developing and monitoring annual business and marketing plans, and participating in property sales and marketing efforts
  5. Assist with the development of a business plan and a budget that defines operational goals and profitability objectives
  6. Build relationships with guests and monitors satisfaction levels
  7. Coordinates capital improvement projects to maintain/upgrade quality standards and property image, and to protect assets from neglect, damage or deterioration
  8. Manage and monitor the property P&L; provide detailed explanations for P&L and forecast variances
  9. Understand and apply accounting principles (e.g., accruals, prepaids, balancing daily reports, GL coding, etc.) and ensure these are understood and applied correctly by the property Controller
  10. Assist with selection, training, counseling and motivating hourly associates
  11. Assist in monitoring the expenses of each departmental budget with the exception of the Sales Department and Maintenance Department
  12. Participate in the development of the hotel expense budget
  13. Assist hotel management and sales teams with the implementation and execution of revenue programs to ensure that the hotels room occupancy, average daily rate, and RevPar objectives are met
  14. Balance Hotel books at the end of each period. Prepare audit reports for end of period. Send End of Period reports to Corporate on the due date of each new period
  15. Work with individual vendors - making sure services and invoices match; getting the best price for supplies
  16. Assist in the maintenance of the key control program that is already in place
  17. Ensure the security needs of the property and guests are met
  18. Ensure effective departmental communication and information systems through logs, department meetings and hotel meetings

Requirements:
