Position Overview

The Senior Asset Protection Analyst plays a crucial role in recognizing, differentiating, and evaluating various elements of challenges while providing insights through advanced analytical skills. Key responsibilities encompass leading project teams, facilitating effective communication across diverse groups and leadership tiers; extracting and analyzing data, comprehending shrinkage, markdowns, returns, and sales/financial metrics; spotting trends within the business and retail sectors; and grasping essential operational processes within retail environments. The Senior Analyst typically collaborates with Loss Prevention Process Managers, engages cross-functionally, and contributes to designated projects. Proficiency in project management, exceptional communication abilities, and collaboration with all Asset Protection and Loss Prevention teams, as well as other departments, are vital for the success of this role.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Conduct data collection and analytical tasks to identify patterns, devise solutions, and strategize project planning and data application.
  • Create documentation for team and leadership review and utilization.
  • Present findings to teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Synthesize insights and propose actionable recommendations.
  • Enhance skills and knowledge through self-development, team collaboration, and internal customer engagement.
Reporting Structure:
  • Generally reports to the Asset Protection Manager.
  • No direct reports, but responsible for guiding a work group: assigning tasks, reviewing work, and training team members (excluding hiring, firing, or disciplinary actions).
Travel Expectations:
  • Typically involves minimal overnight travel, less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
  • Primarily seated in a comfortable position with frequent opportunities for movement. Occasionally may require lifting or moving light items.
Work Environment:
  • Located in a comfortable indoor setting with infrequent and non-objectionable unpleasant conditions.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be at least eighteen years of age.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient analytical skills to manipulate data, draw conclusions, and provide recommendations.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL (BigQuery, DB2, etc.).
  • Proficient in Tableau - capable of designing dashboards to effectively convey messages.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams, etc.).
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities - ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Minimum Education:
  • Typically acquired knowledge, skills, and abilities through the completion of a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
