Job Summary
The Tire Service Specialist is responsible for executing all automotive tire repairs, replacements, balancing, rotations, and TPMS procedures. This role presents excellent opportunities for advancement and career development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Evaluate repair order requests and conduct visual inspections of vehicles to assess tire service needs and required materials.
2. Carry out tire replacements and minor maintenance tasks.
3. Install valve stems and tire-pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) as necessary. Mount tires onto wheel assemblies and inflate as required.
4. Test tire balances to ensure accurate weight distribution.
5. Conduct brief road tests to verify proper installation.
6. Discuss service details with customers.
7. Adhere to the Company Quality Control Program, Safety Policies, and comply with OSHA and EPA regulations.
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent vocational training, or at least 6 months of experience as a tire technician.
- Familiarity with non-technical tire and automotive service processes and procedures. Understanding of software systems related to automotive servicing.
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of tire and lubrication requirements and specifications.
- Experience with Mitchell Repair and All-Data systems.
- Understanding of tire specifications, including the use of wheel balancers, TPMS, and some diagnostic experience related to drivability.
Certifications
- SEMA certification is preferred.
- TIA Automotive Tire Service (ATS) Level 200 certification is required; Level 300 or 400 is a plus.
