Job Summary

Skybound Entertainment is seeking a highly skilled Technical Artist to join our team. As a Technical Artist, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining character rigs, animations, and dynamics. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to drive research, workflows, and technologies for improved deformations, damage states, animation fidelity, and streamlined creation processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Art and Engineering teams to develop and maintain character rigs, animations, and dynamics
  • Research and implement new techniques for improved deformations, damage states, and animation fidelity
  • Work with cross-functional teams to streamline creation processes and improve overall efficiency
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to rigs, animations, and dynamics
Requirements
  • Fluent in Maya with significant experience writing animation, rigging, and UI tools
  • Proficient in one or more programming/GUI languages (e.g., Python, PySide/PyQt)
  • Experience with cloth and rigid/soft body physics setup for characters, including collision volumes
  • A strong understanding of anatomy, gesture, and silhouette
  • Experience researching, piloting, and rolling out new techniques
Preferred Qualifications
  • C#/C++/Maya API experience
  • Video games industry experience and/or gaming familiarity
  • Experience with JIRA, DeltaDNA, Perforce, and Confluence
  • End-to-end knowledge of game production processes and ability to scale role to each phase
  • Unreal Engine experience
  • Passion for video game development

Skybound Entertainment offers a competitive salary range of $130,000-$140,000, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending and dependent care accounts, and 401K plan with 4% match. We also offer 12 weeks of paid parental leave, generous time off, wellness benefits, and tuition reimbursement.
