The Senior Vice President of Operations - Austin will be responsible for providing strategic direction and financial oversight for all operational segments within the Block 21 division of Ryman Hospitality Properties. This role is crucial in driving the growth and profitability of various business entities, including entertainment venues, hospitality services, retail operations, and residential properties. The SVP will ensure that all units deliver exceptional performance while identifying avenues for enhancing profitability through operational efficiencies, capital projects, and proactive asset management strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish precise, long-term financial goals and develop comprehensive plans to achieve or surpass these objectives.
- Analyze monthly and annual financial reports, sales data, and operational metrics for each business unit to assess productivity and identify areas for financial enhancement.
- Lead the annual operational and capital planning processes for each Block 21 entity, including the critical assessment and presentation of these plans to the executive leadership.
- Foster and maintain essential relationships within the community and industry, including government entities, promoters, and tourism officials, to support the Block 21 initiative.
- Define and implement key performance indicators and metrics, spearhead improvement initiatives, and cultivate a culture of continuous enhancement, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide strategic guidance and leadership to the teams overseeing entertainment and hospitality operations, prioritizing key initiatives and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Act as the primary liaison for all financial, capital, and operational matters with external partners, ensuring compliance with asset management standards.
- Collaborate with the concert team and artist relations to devise strategies aimed at increasing the frequency of events and overall profitability.
- Work closely with sales teams to optimize the use of venue spaces for events and catering services.
- Partner with business development teams to effectively create and implement sponsorship and growth strategies.
- Engage in the recruitment, hiring, and development of team members to ensure a robust talent pipeline for future organizational growth.
- Identify and evaluate complementary growth opportunities within the Austin market to enhance strategic growth and financial contributions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Entertainment, Hospitality, or Operations Management preferred.
- MBA or advanced degree is advantageous.
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations within the entertainment or hospitality sectors.
- Deep understanding of the entertainment and hospitality industries, with strong expertise in venue operations and financial management.
- Exceptional business acumen and revenue generation capabilities, with a proven track record of strategic thinking.
- Dynamic and inspiring leader, committed to leading by example and achieving outstanding results.
- Experience in high-growth or developing brands, with a history of creating impactful solutions and identifying growth opportunities.
- Proficient in developing, implementing, and executing comprehensive business plans.
- Strong leadership skills in building, motivating, and guiding teams towards achieving targeted outcomes.
- Expertise in identifying and nurturing top talent within the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across various business functions, fostering strong relationships and partnerships.
