Position Overview

V2X is a leader in providing management and technology support services to various federal agencies and commercial enterprises across the nation. We are currently seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to deliver critical support for our government client. In this role, you will be tasked with conducting cybersecurity assessments, offering IT support, and implementing DoD security protocols for operating systems and applications. This position presents a unique opportunity to contribute to a significant DoD network environment and mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and oversee a High Performance Computing (HPC) cluster network infrastructure to comply with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG) standards, facilitating digital engineering initiatives.
  • Manage and maintain various Linux server-based information systems.
  • Execute a comprehensive range of systems administration and lifecycle management duties to support and sustain IT networks as directed by the Government IT Lead.
  • Advise on and schedule Information Assurance (IA) related repairs within the network.
  • Deliver IA-related customer support functions, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and training based on client needs.
  • Evaluate system performance for potential security vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct vulnerability and compliance assessments using ACAS and STIGs.
  • Perform necessary patching and flaw remediation activities.
  • Facilitate Assured File Transfer (AFT) capabilities across multiple classified networks in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain a Backup and Recovery solution for all information systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve IA issues based on customer-reported incidents.
  • Collaborate with other teams to assist in the installation of infrastructure hardware and software.
  • Create, update, and maintain documentation including diagrams, inventory, build guides, and maintenance logs.
  • Develop task plans and timelines, providing status updates as required by the Government Program Manager.
  • Communicate daily operational issues, including network outages, system failures, or compliance issues, to cybersecurity personnel and stakeholders.
  • Adhere to information security laws and regulations to support functional operations within the network.
  • Support COMSEC network devices.
Qualifications
  • An active DoD Top Secret clearance is required.
  • Proven expertise in IAT Level II network enterprise knowledge and skills.
  • Extensive experience in server-based administration.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in Linux Server environments.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Linux-based HPC deployment and management.
  • Demonstrated experience in configuring and managing network switches.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience as a systems administrator.
  • Possession of DoD Approved Baseline Certification as Information Assurance Technical Level II in accordance with DoD M/8140 (e.g., Security+ CE & Vendor certification or IT Training Provider certificate for the main operating system).
  • Strong understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Joint SAP Implementation Guideline (JSIG).
  • Familiarity with Windows server-based operating systems is preferred.
  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
