Position Overview

V2X is dedicated to providing management and technology support services across various federal agencies and commercial sectors. We are currently seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to provide support for our government client. This role involves delivering cybersecurity analysis, IT support, and implementing DoD security protocols for operating systems and applications. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a critical DoD network environment and mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and oversee a High Performance Computing (HPC) cluster network infrastructure, ensuring compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG) standards.
  • Manage and maintain multiple Linux-based information systems.
  • Execute a variety of systems administration and lifecycle management tasks to support IT networks as directed by the Government IT Lead.
  • Propose and schedule necessary Information Assurance (IA) repairs within the network.
  • Deliver IA-related customer support, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and training based on client needs.
  • Evaluate system performance to identify potential security vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct vulnerability and compliance assessments using ACAS and STIGs.
  • Perform patch management activities to address security flaws.
  • Facilitate Assured File Transfer (AFT) capabilities across classified networks in accordance with established policies.
  • Implement and sustain a Backup and Recovery solution for all information systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve IA issues reported by customers.
  • Collaborate with other teams to assist in the deployment of infrastructure hardware and software.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including diagrams, inventory, build guides, and maintenance logs.
  • Develop timelines and plans for tasks, providing updates as required by the Government Program Manager.
  • Communicate daily operational issues, including network outages and system failures, to cybersecurity personnel and stakeholders.
  • Comply with IS security regulations to support network operations.
  • Support COMSEC network devices.
Qualifications
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Proven expertise in IAT Level II network enterprise knowledge and skills.
  • Extensive experience in server-based administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux Server environments.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Linux-based HPC deployment and management.
  • Experience in configuring and managing network switches.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience as a systems administrator.
  • Possess DoD Approved Baseline Certification as Information Assurance Technical Level II in accordance with DoD M/8140.
  • Strong understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Joint SAP Implementation Guideline (JSIG).
  • Familiarity with Windows server operating systems is preferred.
  • This role requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
