Position Overview

V2X is dedicated to providing exceptional management and technological support services across various federal and commercial sectors. We are currently seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to deliver comprehensive IT support and cybersecurity analysis for our esteemed government client. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity and security of operating systems and applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect, deploy, and oversee a High Performance Computing (HPC) cluster network infrastructure to comply with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG) standards.
  • Administer and sustain multiple Linux-based information systems.
  • Execute a broad spectrum of systems administration and lifecycle management duties to uphold and enhance IT networks as per directives from the Government IT Lead.
  • Advise on and schedule Information Assurance (IA) repairs within the network framework.
  • Facilitate IA-related customer support, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and training tailored to client needs.
  • Evaluate system performance to identify potential security vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct vulnerability and compliance assessments utilizing ACAS and STIG methodologies.
  • Implement patch management strategies to remediate flaws.
  • Ensure Assured File Transfer (AFT) capabilities across various classified networks in accordance with established protocols.
  • Establish and uphold a robust Backup and Recovery strategy for all information systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve IA issues based on customer-reported incidents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate the installation of necessary infrastructure hardware and software.
  • Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive documentation, including diagrams, inventories, build guides, and maintenance logs.
  • Outline task plans and timelines, providing regular status updates as required by the Government Program Manager.
  • Communicate daily operational issues, including network outages and system failures, ensuring compliance with relevant government regulations.
  • Adhere to information security laws and regulations to support the operational functionality of the network.
  • Provide support for COMSEC network devices.
Qualifications
  • Possession of an active DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Proven expertise in IAT Level II network enterprise knowledge and skills.
  • Extensive background in server-based administration.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Linux server environments.
  • Thorough understanding of Linux-based HPC deployment and management.
  • Experience in configuring and managing network switches.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience as a systems administrator.
  • Certification as Information Assurance Technical Level II in accordance with DoD M/8140.
  • Strong understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Joint SAP Implementation Guideline (JSIG).
  • Familiarity with Windows server operating systems is advantageous.
  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
