Sterile Processing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician II to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our Central Processing Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Decontaminate, clean, package, sterilize, store, and distribute medical/surgical equipment and supplies in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Operate and maintain various equipment, including steam sterilizers, plasma sterilizers, and automated endoscope reprocessors.
- Use instrument and equipment tracking systems to ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping.
- Examine and maintain the integrity of sterile packages to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety.
- Prepare OR case carts according to preference cards for all surgical procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, promoting a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Two years of recent experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in an acute hospital setting or a Surgical Technician with two years of recent experience working in a Sterile Processing Department in an acute hospital.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) and completion of an accredited Sterile Processing Program or a Surgical Technician program.
- Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution - Technician Certification or Registered Central Service Technician Certificate or Surgical Technologist Certificate.

Work EnvironmentThis is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, with a night shift schedule. The work location is on-site at Kaiser Permanente's Woodland Hills Medical Center.
