We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician II to join our team at Keck Medicine of USC. As a key member of our Sterile Processing department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care by processing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble and package surgical instrument sets according to established protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
- Operate and maintain sterilization and disinfection equipment, including steam autoclaves and hydrogen peroxide sterilizers.
- Process and sterilize reusable surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring compliance with department and manufacturer guidelines.
- Store and distribute sterile instruments and equipment to various departments within the hospital.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and efficient processing of instruments and equipment.
- Train and assist other Sterile Processing Technicians in the duties listed above.
- Troubleshoot and address routine equipment and instrument issues.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Specialized training in Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology preferred.
- 1 year of experience in Sterile Processing or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of computer systems and ability to operate complex machinery.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Sterile Processing Certification (HSPA, CBSPD) or Certified Surgical Tech (CST) or Surgery-Certified Credential (TS-C) from CAAHEP or ABHES.
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) certification.
Hourly Rate Range: $35.36
