Job Summary:
The University of Southern California is seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing instruments, equipment, and supplies in a clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and disinfect instruments, equipment, and supplies according to designated principles of asepsis.
- Prepare and process packs, supplies, equipment, and instruments for sterilization.
- Conduct and evaluate daily chemical tests on autoclave chambers and dry heat sterilizers.
- Receive contaminated instruments and supplies and dispense sterilized instruments and supplies.
- Fills requisitions, records charges, and inventories supplies.
- Delivers and picks up supplies and equipment.
Requirements:
- Specialized/technical training in sterilization and central service.
- At least one of the following certifications: Certified Registered Central Service Technician - CRCST (IAHCSMM) or Sterile Processing Technician certification.
- 1 year of experience as a Central Service Technician in a clinical setting.
- Working knowledge of sterilization techniques and equipment, universal safety precautions, and requirements of organizations such as JCAHO, Board of Dental Examiners, OSHA, and ADA.
- Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) training.
