Job Title: Deputy Director of Engineering and Technology

Mount Indie is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Director of Engineering and Technology to join our team. This senior leadership role will support the Director of Engineering in overseeing the strategic direction, operational excellence, and innovation within the engineering department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the engineering department's strategy, ensuring alignment with the company's vision and objectives.
  • Collaborate with C-Suite executives to drive high-impact initiatives and represent the engineering department at the highest levels.
  • Lead large-scale engineering projects, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure the department meets its goals.
  • Manage and oversee large-scale engineering projects, ensuring effective resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Provide technical guidance to teams on complex projects and challenges, and drive innovation within the engineering department.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand needs, gather feedback, and ensure that the engineering department's initiatives align with broader organizational goals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role, with a track record of success in driving engineering strategy and execution.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, technologies, and best practices, with the ability to provide technical guidance on complex projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with executives and represent the engineering department at the highest levels.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects, budgets, and resources, with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Understanding of DoD/DoN practices.
  • Experience supporting teams in the engineering development, testing, and deployment of complex systems.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Current US SECRET Clearance.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience in agile, professional SW development environments.
  • Working knowledge and experience with military networking systems.
  • Experience with US Navy Communications networks and C4ISR.
  • Management Degree, MBA, or similar certification (such as PMP).
