Job Overview

Cooper Construction Company is in search of a skilled Construction Project Leader to oversee a variety of commercial construction initiatives. This full-time position requires expertise in managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgetary limits.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing project timelines, costs, and quality to ensure successful completion of construction projects.
  • Coordinating all facets of the construction process, including the recruitment of subcontractors and collaboration with engineers, architects, and suppliers.
  • Drafting and negotiating contracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
  • Scheduling various phases of construction projects based on established deadlines.
  • Securing necessary permits from local authorities.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment to job sites.
  • Maintaining accurate customer billing, including the establishment of a schedule of values and effective communication with clients.
  • Collaborating with Building Superintendents to monitor project progress, workforce productivity, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Addressing challenges that may arise due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Evaluating project progress and preparing comprehensive reports.
Qualifications

Ideal candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in safe construction practices, with a preference for commercial construction.
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, building science, or a related field.
  • A detail-oriented, customer-focused approach with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • The capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Sound judgment in the absence of direct supervision.
  • A commitment to confidentiality and sensitivity in all matters.
  • A collaborative spirit with demonstrated leadership qualities.
