Position: Senior Food Service Leader

Department: Food and Beverage

Reports To: Food and Beverage Manager

FLSA Status: Part-time/Hourly/Non-exempt

Overview

The Senior Food Service Leader plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional catering services to guests, ensuring a memorable experience that fosters customer loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Event Responsibilities

  • Participate in pre-event meetings to discuss event specifics.
  • Assist in the setup and preparation of event spaces as required.
  • Arrange tables with appropriate place settings as directed.
  • Support various side tasks, including cleaning and replenishing condiments, gathering banquet supplies, and preparing garnishes and beverages.

Event Service Responsibilities

  • Deliver friendly and professional service to guests.
  • Help maintain service schedules and communicate any issues to the Manager.
  • Stay at designated stations and fulfill duties as per each event's requirements.
  • Report guest feedback and concerns to the Banquet Captain or Food and Beverage Manager.

Post-Event Responsibilities

  • Disassemble tables and banquet equipment.
  • Clean and return serving items to their designated storage.
  • Monitor food and beverage consumption as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist in counting beverage inventory.
  • Support the Beverage Captain as necessary.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization in both front and back of house areas.
  • Guide and assist temporary staff assigned to events.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Report to work in appropriate uniform and adhere to grooming standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role does not entail supervisory duties but may involve receiving direction from Banquet Captains.

Qualifications

To excel in this position, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a food and beverage setting with direct customer interaction.
  • Familiarity with catering services and related terminology.

Other Qualifications

  • Availability for irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Willingness to obtain ServSafe Food Handler Certification within 6 months of hire.
