Job Description

RLD Associates, Inc. is seeking a remote insurance premium assessment specialist to serve various territories.

Note - This role can be either full-time or part-time based on the candidate's travel availability. Part-time will necessitate a travel radius of at least 60 miles, while full-time may require travel beyond this distance.

As a premium assessment specialist, you will operate independently in the field, engaging with diverse businesses to perform insurance premium evaluations. The objective of a premium assessment is to scrutinize financial records and conduct comprehensive interviews to verify the classification of the insured's business type and the corresponding premium.

For part-time candidates, the position will be classified as 1099 and will encompass areas within an approximate 60-mile radius.

For full-time candidates, the position will be W-2 with eligibility for benefits and will involve 3-4 days of travel weekly, including additional regions.

*** Compensation is contingent upon part-time or full-time status.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Review assessment requests
  • Prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively
  • Contact the insured to arrange assessment appointments
  • Travel to the designated appointment locations
  • Conduct on-site interviews regarding business operations and compile detailed descriptions. Analyze the insured's payroll and sales records against tax documents to ensure accuracy.
  • Research and apply relevant manual rules and classifications to meet insurance industry standards.
  • Prepare comprehensive written assessment reports that include data analysis, calculations, and classifications.

A successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualities:

  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Excel
  • A pleasant yet professional demeanor
  • A two-year degree in accounting or a related field is preferred. Experience in bookkeeping and payroll preparation, as well as knowledge of commercial insurance, is valued.
