Senior Medical Executive

Position Summary:
This role is dependent on the successful award of a contract. The Chief Medical Officer will oversee and guide the medical team, providing strategic direction and leadership across all healthcare aspects for the MEDSSI Project.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a Common Access Card (CAC) or the ability to obtain one.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English for effective communication.
- Current and unrestricted medical license from any US State, District of Columbia, or US Territory.
- Graduated from an accredited medical school and completed a residency or fellowship as a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) in the US or Canada.
- Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
- Preferred certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) by the American College of Surgeons.
- Possession of a DEA license.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Ability to obtain US DOS clearance is required.
- Willingness to relocate as necessary.
- A valid passport is required and must be maintained throughout the duration of the assignment.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of three years in a healthcare leadership role, with clinical experience within the last five years, ideally in a remote setting.
- Proven executive-level interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a matrix environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead initiatives focused on quality improvement and clinical governance, ensuring adherence to medical practice standards, record keeping, infection control, and patient safety.
- Chair the Medical Executive Committee (MEC), ensuring effective documentation and communication of meeting outcomes.
- Oversee various hospital committees, ensuring regular reporting and compliance with established protocols.
- Ensure routine peer reviews of medical charts are conducted and documented appropriately.
- Provide strategic oversight for clinical case management and patient referrals.
- Collaborate with other leaders to ensure seamless medical operations.
- Promote adherence to International SOS Standard Operating Procedures and Protocols.
- Supervise all healthcare providers, including physicians and specialists.
- Guide the strategic direction of medical staff and physician services to achieve organizational goals.
- Report on metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of physician services.
- Participate in the development of administrative policies and approve medical practice guidelines.
- Advise on medical equipment needs and future requirements.
- Assist in planning for new medical service developments.
- Review practice management functions and patient satisfaction metrics.
- Provide medical consultations as needed.
- Engage in the development and implementation of training programs.
- Participate in site meetings and government audits as required.
- Report to the Chief Medical Officer to ensure quality and compliance.
- Serve as the Medical Director for EMS services, coordinating skill validation and protocols.
Preferred Experience:
Experience working in military settings or as a government contractor is preferred.
