Inpatient Nutritionist-Food Service Therapeutics-Mount Sinai Morningside-Full Time/Days

We are seeking a highly skilled Inpatient Nutritionist to join our team at Mount Sinai Morningside. As a key member of our Food Service Therapeutics department, you will provide quality nutrition care and education to patients and their families.
Responsibilities- Evaluate the nutritional status of patients and develop personalized nutrition plans to meet their needs.
- Conduct nutrition-focused physical exams to assess patients' nutritional status and identify areas for improvement.
- Document patient information and progress in the medical record, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication.
- Provide education and counseling to patients and their families on nutrition-related topics, including meal planning and healthy eating habits.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in nutrition therapy, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or a related field, with completion of an ACEND-accredited dietetic internship.
- Registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or registration-eligible, with the ability to pass the RD exam within 3 months of hire.
- Minimum 0 years of experience in a clinical nutrition setting, with a strong understanding of nutrition therapy and patient care.
