Position Overview:

Faculty Physician - Transplant Nephrologist

We are actively seeking a dedicated Transplant Nephrology faculty member to contribute to our expanding Kidney Transplant Program. Our institution has a longstanding reputation for excellence in kidney and pancreas transplantation, characterized by a commitment to research and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive clinical care for patients with kidney disease and hypertension, working collaboratively with a team of physicians and advanced practice providers.
  • Engage in both inpatient and outpatient care for nephrology transplant patients, while also educating medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Devote approximately 85% of your time to clinical responsibilities and 15% to academic pursuits and research, managing a diverse patient population.
  • Conduct outpatient clinic sessions, including virtual consultations, at affiliated healthcare facilities.
  • Share inpatient coverage responsibilities with fellow nephrology transplant faculty, focusing on kidney and pancreas transplant patients.
  • Participate in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with surgical specialists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Perform kidney transplant biopsies and manage call responsibilities with minimal night coverage.
  • Engage in educational opportunities through clinical meetings, conferences, and interactions with fellows.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited ACGME Internal Medicine residency and fellowship training in nephrology and transplant nephrology.
  • Board eligibility or certification with the ABIM in internal medicine and transplant nephrology.
  • Possession or eligibility for a medical license and DEA in the state of Maryland.
  • Ability to obtain work authorization in the United States and maintain legal status.
Preferred Qualifications:

Interest in clinical or translational research is advantageous. Prior research experience is a plus but not mandatory.
