Job Title: Mental Health Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team at Discovery Mood & Anxiety Programs. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting patients through their treatment experience, ensuring their safety and well-being, and contributing to the overall success of our program.

Responsibilities:
  • Orient new patients to the treatment program, its requirements, and routine, and complete necessary assessments within 24 hours of admission.
  • Monitor patients throughout the treatment experience, keeping them in sight in the milieu and checking on them in bedrooms or other areas regularly.
  • Contribute to the well-being of all patients by serving as a positive role model, demonstrating a professional and caring manner toward coworkers, patients, and guests.
  • Facilitate treatment plans set forth by therapists by providing day-to-day support to patients and directing them in a clear, concise, and informative manner.
  • Run and engage patients in therapeutic groups, such as coping skills, relapse prevention, psychoeducation, and life skills, for the expected length of time identified in the program schedule.
  • Document any behaviors that occur in the milieu in a thorough and appropriate manner, maintaining the confidential nature of all patient and program-related activities.
  • Answer the telephone promptly and politely, transferring inquiries to the therapist, milieu manager, or program director as needed.
  • Maintain a clean environment by completing cleaning tasks on the shift worked and documenting.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • Bachelor's degree or one year of experience working with mental health or adolescents
  • Must attend all training, education, and staff enrichment activities, including monthly online trainings, in-person trainings, and trainings as assigned.
  • Must possess a current driver's license in good standing
  • Must be CPI and CPR/First Aid certified within 90 days of employment with Discovery

Available Shifts:

  • Part-Time: Wednesday and Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Full-Time: Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, and Sunday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
