Department OverviewThe Department of Internal Medicine is a top-tier department with world-class faculty and staff. Our division includes sections of luminal gastroenterology, hepatology/liver transplant medicine, pancreatology, advanced endoscopy, and nutrition.
The faculty of the Division of Digestive Diseases is among the national leaders in basic science research in infectious diseases, HIV infections, tuberculosis, and global health clinical care, education, and research.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a full-time (100% FTE) Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive, continuous, and personalized patient care in the acute care hospital setting.
This position will support the Post-Liver Transplant clinic and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team caring for patients with hepatology-related issues.
Responsibilities- Perform appropriate history and physical for complex, acute, critical, and chronically ill patients.
- Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
- Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
- Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
- Maintain accurate medical records.
- Collaborate with other providers and members of the healthcare team in delivery of care and make appropriate referrals when needed.
- Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, with the ability to evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment for complex and critically ill patients.
The APP must demonstrate clinical and technical competence, sound clinical judgment, professionalism, and compliant documentation in a timely manner.
