Key Responsibilities for a Sales Professional

The primary objective of this role is to establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers, selling a diverse range of food and non-food products to meet sales and profitability targets. Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for customer relationships
  • Selling and engaging customers in value-added activities
  • Utilizing additional resources to target key opportunities and new account openings

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Fostering customer relationships within a team-based selling approach
  • Managing deliveries according to the transportation department's schedule
  • Collecting accounts receivable and working with the credit department
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities through various channels
  • Keeping updated on market conditions, product innovations, and competitor insights
  • Driving to customers and prospects to ensure product delivery

Working Relationships:

  • Internal: District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, VP of Local Sales, Accounting/Credit Department, Merchandising and Marketing, Operations, Customer Contact
  • External: Customers, vendors, prospective customers

Work Environment:

  • Frequently working outdoors, visiting customers in varying weather conditions

Requirements:

  • 1+ year of sales experience preferred
  • Foodservice industry/culinary/restaurant management/hospitality experience preferred
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to establish relationships and cold call for new business
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, problem-solving, and negotiation skills

Education:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent

  • Valid driver's license required

Compensation:

Compensation for this role is based on experience, location, and other factors. In Washington, the expected salary range is between $61,500 and $92,250, with additional incentive pay and benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and more.
