Job Title: Meat/Specialist Manager

Restaurant Depot, a leading wholesale restaurant supplier, is seeking an experienced Meat Specialist/Manager for our Fife, WA location. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3+ years of experience in a retail or big box environment and possess in-depth knowledge of fresh meats, including different cuts, grades, and varieties, merchandising, rotation, sales forecasting, and ordering of product. HACCP knowledge is a significant plus. Excellent customer service skills are essential, as you will be interacting with business customers throughout the day. The ability to move/lift 50 lb cases and work in a refrigerated environment (35-40 degrees) is required. A flexible schedule is necessary, as we are open 7 days a week. Responsibilities:
  • Operations Management:
    • Supervise daily activities of the picking and loading management within a cold storage facility.
    • Monitor and ensure accurate execution of processes to meet operational goals, considering the challenges of cold storage.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, motivate, and mentor supervisors, and warehouse staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Provide guidance and coaching to address performance issues and ensure professional growth.
  • Performance Analysis:
    • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and evaluate the distribution center's productivity and efficiency in a cold storage context.
    • Identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, and develop action plans accordingly.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Collaborate with the Logistics team to manage inventory levels, monitor stock movement, and reduce carrying costs, taking into account the challenges of cold storage.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, especially within the unique cold storage environment.
    • Promote a safe working environment by enforcing proper safety protocols and conducting regular safety training.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, accuracy, and customer service within a cold storage context.
    • Implement best practices, technology solutions, and automation to drive process improvements.
