Job Summary:
The Head of Laundry Operations plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient functioning of the laundry department in accordance with Omni's high standards. This position involves overseeing the training and management of laundry staff while ensuring that services are delivered promptly and cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Arrive prior to staff to prepare for the day's operations.
  • Ensure all laundry equipment is operational and in good condition.
  • Establish daily priorities for the laundry team.
  • Assign tasks to laundry associates upon their arrival.
  • Maintain accurate records of all processed items.
  • Supervise the cleaning of stained linens and towels.
  • Advise on the conversion of linens to rags when necessary.
  • Fill in for absent associates as needed.
  • Oversee the distribution of linens to various departments.
  • Ensure all items are folded correctly and prioritize linen delivery.
  • Inspect linens before they leave the laundry area.
  • Manage team morale, attendance, and production levels.
  • Coordinate with other departments for daily and special requirements.
  • Participate in weekly operational meetings.
  • Conduct monthly linen inventories.
  • Handle payroll and operational costs, preparing schedules based on demand.
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety of the laundry area before departing each day.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive management experience in laundry or housekeeping, preferably in a luxury hotel setting.
  • Experience in managing service recovery and employee relations.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on training and motivating staff.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
  • Understanding of laundry supplies and inventory management.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while multitasking effectively.
  • Proficient in computer usage.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Physical ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to stand or walk for extended periods.
