We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rides Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at LEGOLAND Parks. As a key member of our Technical Services department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily upkeep of all rides, ensuring the safety of guests and employees, and coordinating with maintenance engineers to maintain a preventive maintenance program.
Key Responsibilities- Maintenance Scheduling and Budgeting: Assist the Head of Ride Maintenance in scheduling and budgeting for theme park rides and attractions, including the use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Emergency Repairs and Maintenance: Follow established maintenance programs, including emergency repairs as required, to minimize downtime and ensure the smooth operation of all rides and attractions.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure internal compliance with maintenance, safety, and security procedures by following established ASTM, Polk County, and loss prevention guidelines.
- Team Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a team of maintenance employees, ensuring they follow LEGO-established employee policies and procedures.
- Parts and Materials Procurement: Write requisitions for parts and materials for rides, buildings, and all other attractions, and forward them to the manager for approval.
- Technical Services Duty Manager: Act as one of the Technical Services duty managers, ensuring the smooth operation of the park's technical services.
- Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain tools, machines, and all other company equipment in clean and good working order.
- Safety and Risk Management: Prioritize safety above all else, ensuring the well-being of guests and employees.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Assist the manager in preparing yearly budgets and monitoring budget for maximum efficiency and cost savings without jeopardizing safety.
- Long- and Short-Range Maintenance Goals: Assist the manager in establishing long- and short-range maintenance goals, ensuring the park's rides and attractions are always in top condition.
- Training and Development: Assist in designing and expanding a comprehensive training system geared to meet LEGO and Merlin maintenance requirements.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with modern management techniques and technical methods by attending supplemental courses, seminars, conventions, etc.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed of governmental, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, ASTM, and Polk County codes.
- Staff Meetings and Communication: Conduct weekly staff meetings for the purpose of directing, informing, training, and motivating maintenance cast members.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Foster teamwork within the maintenance department and all other departments.
- Ride Inspections and Evaluations: Periodically accompany maintenance technicians during ride inspections to recheck their methods, techniques, and procedures.
- Procedure Evaluation and Improvement: Evaluate procedures, methods, and ride maintenance member productivity, identifying areas for improvement.
- Performance Reviews and Development: Formally review team leader and employee skills in regard to job performance and discuss written reports with them on an annual basis.
- Experience: Must have experience within a heavy industrial or engineering field, with a rides maintenance background preferred but not required.
- Leadership and Management: Must be able to demonstrate leadership qualities and strong people management skills, with at least 2 years of experience leading and managing a team.
- Certifications: High school graduate or General Education Degree (or equivalent education and experience) is required, with AIMES or NARRSO certification required within 1 year.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to sit for sustained periods of time, attend on-site and off-site meetings, perform paperwork activities, travel, and drive, with intermittent and prolonged standing and walking required.
