Job Summary

The Revenue Cycle Data Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the Mission, Values, and Strategic Goals and Objectives of Thomas Health System. This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Revenue Cycle by fulfilling the duties outlined in this document. The content of this document is not a comprehensive list of duties/expectations, but is indicative of the general nature and level of work expected in this position.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in monitoring and tracking/reporting measurements to provide data to the Executive Director of Revenue Cycle.
  • Review reports supplied by outside vendors, including managed care contracts, Monthly Operating Reports, Denial Summary Reports, and patient accounting system generated reports.
  • Provide data, information, and reports to ensure appropriate escalation of information to leadership.
  • Use statistical methods to analyze data and generate useful business reports.
  • Work with departmental managers to outline specific data needs for each business method analysis project.
  • Filter and 'clean' data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and/or Finance and/or Mathematics – Computer Engineering.
  • 2+ years' Data mining experience. Experience in healthcare business and/or finance will be preferred; HCA/Parallon Business Objects (BOBJ) experience a plus.
  • Strong SQL or Excel skills with the ability to learn other analytic tools.
